Korean Food Calorie Search

LIVE

Search 50+ Korean dishes for per-serving calories, macros, and sodium β€” with a daily basket summation.

About this tool

Korean Food Calorie Search returns per-serving kcal, carbs, protein, fat, sodium, and sugar for 50+ Korean dishes (kimchi jjigae, bibimbap, ramyeon, samgyeopsal, gukbap, etc.) in under a second. Data: Korea MFDS food composition DB + RDA National Standard Food Composition Table (2021) + KNS 2020 nutrient intake guidance. Add items to a daily "basket" for total kcal and % of RDI. Korean meals tend to spike sodium (1,500~2,200mg per meal); the tool visualizes this against WHO’s 2,000mg/day cap. localStorage only; nothing is sent to a server.

Use cases

Scenario 1

Lunch sum

Sum bibimbap 620 + miyeokguk 80 + kimchi 20 = 720 kcal into "basket" to budget dinner.

Scenario 2

Doenjang jjigae 1,800mg + ramyeon 1,700mg in one meal already busts WHO’s 2,000mg/day cap β€” surfaced immediately.

Scenario 3

Compare baeksuk 400 / grilled salmon 350 / tofu salad 250 / miyeokguk 150 to compose a 1,500 kcal day.

Scenario 4

TDEE compare

Compare against the TDEE 2,000 kcal computed via tdee.bal.pe.kr to determine surplus/deficit.

Frequently asked

Q. Same serving baseline for every dish?
A. No β€” uses MOHW/KNS standard servings (kimchi jjigae 400g, rice 210g, ramyeon 500g w/ broth, samgyeopsal 150g, etc.).
Q. Why kcal varies by restaurant?
A. Cooking method (oil/seasoning), ingredients (pork fat ratio, rice volume), and add-ons (cheese, extra rice) cause Β±20~40% variance.
Q. High-sodium menus?
A. Doenjang jjigae 1,800mg, kimchi jjigae 1,600mg, yukgaejang 2,200mg β€” each meal can hit or bust WHO’s 2,000mg/day.
Q. Delivery/franchise menus?
A. Generic Korean focus; specific brands (BBQ, Kyochon) excluded due to undisclosed recipes. Use category averages ("chicken piece") for approximation.
Q. Is data sent to a server?
A. No. Stored in localStorage only. Cleared on incognito mode or device reset.
