Korean Newborn Feeding Calculator

LIVE

Calculate newborn feeding volume, daily total, and interval by weight, age, and feeding mode β€” with timer and ICS alert.

About this tool

Korean Newborn Feeding Calculator estimates per-feed volume (mL), daily total, and feed-to-feed interval from baby weight (kg), age (months), and mode (breast / formula / mixed) using the Korean Pediatric Society and AAP guidelines (formula: 150–180 mL/kg/day across 7–8 feeds; breast: on-demand reference; mixed: input the supplement %). Start a feed and the tool predicts the next feed time, runs a left/right alternating timer, and stores the last 5 sessions. Export Google / Apple / Outlook-compatible ICS calendars. Records stay in browser localStorage only.

Use cases

Scenario 1

Newborn 3.5 kg formula

For a 3.5 kg newborn, instantly compute per-feed mL and daily total (~525–630 mL) split across 7–8 feeds.

Scenario 2

Mixed feeding 40% formula

For breast + 40% formula supplement, see the formula target plus on-demand breastfeeding guidance side by side.

Scenario 3

Next-feed reminder

Log the 23:00 feed and get an ICS calendar reminder ~2 h 30 min later.

Scenario 4

Age transition β€” around 6 months

Around the 6-month weaning start, instantly see the recommended formula reduction.

Scenario 5

Last 5 sessions log

Compare last 5 feeds against Β±20% of the recommended total β€” useful at pediatric checkups.

Frequently asked

Q. Why is breastfeeding hard to measure in mL?
A. Direct measurement is impractical, so on-demand (cue-based) is standard. The tool offers age-based daily totals as "sufficient" reference values.
Q. Where does 150–180 mL/kg/day come from?
A. Both AAP and the Korean Pediatric Society publish 150–180 mL/kg/day. The tool defaults to 165 mL/kg.
Q. My baby eats outside the range. Worry?
A. Β±20% from daily total is normal. Persistent low intake with growth below the 3rd-percentile curve warrants a pediatrician visit.
Q. Is data saved to a server?
A. No. Everything stays in browser localStorage; incognito or cache clearing wipes it. ICS files download as standard text.
Q. Is this an official pediatric tool?
A. No. It uses publicly available KPS / AAP / WHO guideline numbers as reference; it does not replace clinical advice.
