Korean Karaoke Key Transposer

LIVE

Korean karaoke key transposer with TJ·KY machine mapping and 100 K-pop presets.

About this tool

Noraebang Key Adjustment Calculator (Korea) takes the user’s comfortable vocal range (lowest / highest note) and the song’s original key, and instantly returns how many key-button presses (±N semitones) are needed on TJ Media or Kumyoung karaoke machines. Based on the standard 1 key = 1 semitone, it computes user-average minus song-average and recommends the right number, with auto-detection from a 1,000-song K-pop verse/chorus dataset. The vocal-range self-test page uses Web Audio API autocorrelation pitch detection — works with or without mic permission. Mic data and range results never leave the browser.

Use cases

Scenario 1

Male singing a female song

For a male tackling a female-vocal song, the tool computes the typical 5–7 semitone gap and suggests −5 to −7.

Scenario 2

K-pop high-range tune

Songs by IU/Taeyeon (G5–B5) typically need −3 to −5 keys for an average male voice; the tool fine-tunes to your real range.

Scenario 3

Vocal range self-test

Test your low / high notes against piano tones or — with mic permission — auto-detect via pitch tracking to nail your average range.

Scenario 4

TJ vs Kumyoung key differences

Same song, different machines — TJ ±10 vs Kumyoung ±6 limits and original-MR-key drift mean the tool shows recommended keys for both.

Scenario 5

Audio-quality limit guidance

≤±5 keys is transparent; ≥±6 introduces metallic tremolo, so the tool suggests octave shifts or alternative songs.

Frequently asked

Q. How big is one karaoke key?
A. One key = one semitone (C ↔ C#). 12 keys = 1 octave. Same on both TJ and Kumyoung.
Q. Male vs female key gap?
A. Roughly 5–7 keys (P4–P5) on average. Fine-tune to your actual range for precision.
Q. Does heavy key shifting hurt audio quality?
A. ≤±5 keys is mostly transparent; ≥±6 introduces tremolo and metallic ring. Use octave shifts for larger jumps.
Q. Is my mic input uploaded?
A. No — Web Audio API pitch detection runs locally; neither audio nor results are uploaded.
Q. Is it free?
A. 100% free with no signup or email collection. Unlimited tests and calculations.
