🔁 Safe alternating (cross-dosing)

  • • When repeating the same medicine, keep at least a 4-hour interval.
  • • Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen/dexibuprofen (Brufen/Maxibupen) are different classes, so they can be alternated. If one alone does not control the fever, alternate with at least a 2-hour gap while respecting each drug's own minimum interval and daily maximum.
  • • Ibuprofen and dexibuprofen are the same NSAID class. Do not alternate between them — use only one (double dosing risks kidney/stomach harm).
  • • Routine alternating is not recommended. If the fever persists enough to need alternating, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
