1. Service overview

bal.pe.kr ("Service") is a free portfolio of micro web tools — calculators, document generators, judgment helpers, OCR utilities — operated by an individual ("Operator"). Each tool is hosted on its own subdomain (e.g., pogalwage.bal.pe.kr) and is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. The hub site bal.pe.kr is the index that links them together.

2. Acceptance of terms

By accessing the Service you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Use of the Service by employees of an organization is also bound by these Terms regardless of internal authorization.

3. Free use & monetization

• All tools are free to use. No login, payment, or subscription is required.
• The Operator covers hosting (AWS S3 / CloudFront / Route 53 / ACM) and domain costs primarily through Google AdSense advertising revenue.
• Pro / paid features may be introduced in the future, but the current free tier of every existing tool will remain free of charge.
• Voluntary tipping or sponsorship may be offered; it never gates any tool functionality.

4. Advisory only — no professional advice

All outputs of the Service (tax estimates, contract drafts, eligibility verdicts, certified-notice templates, mortgage and DSR caps, customs duty estimates, fee/margin calculations, etc.) are advisory and informational. They do not constitute legal, financial, medical, tax, accounting, labor-law, or insurance advice. Before making a real decision based on any output, consult a licensed professional — labor attorney (공인노무사), lawyer, certified public accountant, doctor, tax accountant, insurance planner, or other qualified expert in the relevant jurisdiction.

5. Accuracy & sources

• Statutes, case law, and public datasets used by each tool are cited on the tool page or this site.
• The Operator strives for accuracy but does not guarantee correctness, completeness, or up-to-date status of any output.
• Calculation errors and law-change reports submitted via the Contact channels are addressed within 24 hours wherever feasible.
• When a law revision invalidates a tool’s logic, the tool is updated or temporarily marked "law revision in progress" until corrected.

6. Liability disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service. This includes but is not limited to: financial loss, tax penalty, missed deadline, contractual liability, legal disadvantage, lost revenue, reputational harm, or data loss. Use of any tool is at the user’s own risk and judgment.

7. Prohibited use

Users may not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Korean / EU / US law.
• Attempt to disrupt the Service through automated abuse, mass scraping, denial-of-service, or by injecting malicious payloads.
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source of in-browser tools to circumvent the free tier or to operate a competing service under the bal.pe.kr brand.
• Reproduce or redistribute the Service’s content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
• Use any tool’s output as if it were a final professional opinion when presenting to a third party (e.g., to a client, court, or tax authority).

8. External links & third-party services

The Service links to external resources (statutes, government portals, marketplace help centers, AdSense advertisers, professional directories) and uses third-party processors (Google Analytics 4, Google AdSense, AWS, Naver Webmaster — see Privacy Policy §5). The Operator does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any external site or third-party service. Your use of any external destination is governed by that site’s own terms and privacy policy.

9. Intellectual property

• The Service, source code, brand, logo, and copywriting are owned by the Operator unless otherwise noted.
• Open-source components carry their own licenses (MIT, Apache 2.0, etc.) — see each repo for full attribution.
• Tool outputs (e.g., a generated payslip, contract draft, certified notice) belong to the user who generated them and may be used freely, including for commercial purposes.
• You may link to bal.pe.kr or any tool subdomain freely; framing inside another commercial product without permission is not allowed.

10. Service availability

The Operator may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any tool at any time without prior notice in cases of legal change, security incident, or operational necessity. Where feasible, sunset announcements for live tools will be posted on the homepage at least 30 days in advance. Planned tools may be cancelled without notice.

11. Dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably via the email in §13. Failing that, the Seoul Central District Court shall be the exclusive court of first instance, except where a mandatory consumer-protection statute provides otherwise.

12. Changes to these terms

These Terms may be revised. Material changes (governing law, liability scope, paid feature introduction) will be announced on the homepage at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
