How to apply (5 steps)

  1. 1Confirm your eligibility and prepare your passport, ARC (residence card), and proof of departure (flight ticket).
  2. 2Open or keep a bank account that can receive an international transfer (your Korean account, or an overseas account with SWIFT/IBAN).
  3. 3Apply at an NPS branch before you leave Korea, or by mail/online after departure. Apply within 5 years of becoming eligible.
  4. 4Submit the lump-sum refund claim form, ID, and your bank details. NPS reviews and confirms the amount.
  5. 5Receive the refund by transfer. Check whether the amount is taxable in your home country.
