Recipe Serving Scaler

LIVE

Scale recipe servings with unit conversions and oven-temperature adjustment. Korean and Western presets.

About this tool

Recipe Serving & Unit Scaler scales any recipe by serving size (1Γ—, 2Γ—, 0.5Γ—, etc.), auto-converts every ingredient amount, and translates between Korean and Western cooking units (cup / tbsp / tsp / oz / g / ml / Β°F ↔ Β°C). For oven dishes, it also adjusts bake time and temperature when you scale up or down. Korean home-cooking presets (반찬 / κ΅ / 찌개 / ꡬ이) sit alongside Western baking / roasting / sauce presets so two cooking traditions live on one screen. Bilingual KO/EN UI, result PNG card, all math in-browser.

Use cases

Scenario 1

4-serving recipe β†’ 2 servings

Halve a 4-person kimchi-jjigae to 2 β€” every g/ml/tsp scales to 0.5Γ— and outputs a shopping list.

Scenario 2

Baking g ↔ cups

Convert "1 cup flour" to grams (~120g) plus oz and tbsp simultaneously for baking accuracy.

Scenario 3

Oven time/temp adjust

Scaling a 350Β°F / 30-min bake to 2Γ— returns the same temp + ~1.3Γ— time (~40 min) recommendation automatically.

Scenario 4

Korean seasoning ratios kept

When you scale a Korean dish, the soy 2 : sugar 1 : minced garlic 0.5 ratio is preserved so flavor balance survives.

Scenario 5

Β°F ↔ Β°C bulk convert

Bulk-convert Β°F ↔ Β°C in foreign recipes so the values plug straight into a Korean oven.

Frequently asked

Q. Why is it not just multiplication?
A. Oven time and temperature do not scale linearly with servings. Volume units (cup / tbsp) translate to grams differently per ingredient density, so corrections matter.
Q. Are cup β†’ g conversions exact?
A. It uses standard densities (120g/cup flour, 200g/cup sugar, etc.). For precision baking, weigh on a digital scale.
Q. Is "2Γ— β†’ 1.3Γ— time" right?
A. It is a working rule of thumb; exact times depend on dish and oven. The tool gives a starting estimate β€” check doneness mid-bake.
Q. Can I mix Korean and Western units?
A. Yes β€” mix freely. Output everything as g/ml or keep original units, your choice.
Q. Is data stored?
A. No β€” all conversion runs in your browser; no recipe data leaves your device.
